"HOW BOREL'S CAJUN ZING BECAME A REALITY" 

As most of you know and for those of you that do not, Borel’s Cajun Zing Seasoning is our very own Cajun blend of spices.  Borel’s Cajun Zing Seasoning was created in our very own Cajun kitchen.  After 20 years of having all those different spice bottles in our pantry, we decided to manufacture the blend into one bottle.  To our surprise, family and friends started asking for Borel’s Cajun Zing Seasoning. Here we are 5 years later and . . .
“Voila!” There it is!!
Cajuns are always having large gatherings to celebrate anything we can.  So I am always cooking. Needless to say my boys love to eat and they have big appetites.  Growing up in South Louisiana gave us the opportunity to experience great Cajun culture at it’s finest.

For those of you that do not know let me fill you in on a secret; the older Cajun generation can cook some awesome meals.  So when my husband and I were married, I would question my grandparent’s generation on how to season, because at that time the only thing I knew was salt and cayenne pepper.  Well one thing about Cajuns, they do not use measuring utensils.  So the older generation gave me the ingredients.  Now the measurements were a little of this and a little of that and make sure you put more of this than you do of that.  So we had to come up with the measurements on our own.  So throughout the years of trial and error we now have what we like...not too peppery and not too salty.

One afternoon, as I was listing Cajun products to sell on eBay, it occurred to me that instead of selling Cajun products for other people, I should bottle my Cajun seasoning.   I had been selling Cajun products on eBay for about a year and I had already realized the demand for Cajun products.   I knew it was time for me to bottle my Cajun seasoning.
